Our Services

TUITION

We provide educational advice and individual (one-to-one) academic and language teaching to Hong Kong students studying locally or overseas from Primary Year 4 through Secondary to Undergraduate. We cover a wide range of academic subjects:

  • English (Literature and Language)
  • Mathematics
  • Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
  • Social Sciences (Economics, Geography, History, IB ESS)
  • Modern Languages (French, German and Spanish)
  • Philosophy, Global Perspectives, Critical Thinking and Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
  • Latin (to Common Entrance level 2)

The majority of our work involves preparing students for the GCSE, iGCSE and A-level examinations, in addition to the Cambridge Pre-U examinations and the IB Diploma. However we can also help students to improve their prospects for local school examinations including the HKDSE, and to prepare for entrance into North American schools and Colleges.

ACADEMIC ADVICE

We are able to give advice on placement into UK schools at Common Entrance level or above, and are fully conversant with the selection criteria applied by schools which set their own examination papers. To make an appointment, please call us on 2526-4097 or email us at gower@amghk.com.hk.

INVIGILATION

We also invigilate the Entrance examinations to many UK Independent schools both through the ISEB Common Entrance papers (11+ and 13+) and through the schools’ own Entrance examination papers. AMG also sets the ISEB Common Pre-test for UK Top schools, such as Wellington, Radley and Harrow. For more details: click here

PLACEMENT TESTS

We also offer Cognitive Ability testing for HK students, using the GL Assessment CAT4 test which is similar in content to the new UKiset ability test used by many UK selective secondary schools. For details: click here

INTERVIEW PRACTICE

AMG also offers Interview preparation at all ages. This crucial self-presentation skill requires honing, and AMG understands that spontaneity cannot be coached, so we generally restrict such preparation to two sessions. For more details: click here

All teaching takes place in our offices in Lyndhurst Terrace, Central. The office is easily accessible both for HK Island residents and for Kowloon-based students, via the nearby MTR station (Central station, exit D2). Lesson timetables are arranged at the student’s convenience, subject to the constraints imposed by prior bookings. Our teaching hours are Monday to Friday 9 am to 8 pm and Saturday 9 am to 6 pm; we are closed on Sundays and public holidays).
